Position: Research Associate or Research Scientist

 

Laboratory research position that focuses on evaluating the immunological effects of pathogen-derived molecular patterns on the human immune system. Candidates with strong immunoassay experience, in vitro cellular immunology experience, and basic analytical biochemistry skills will be given preference.

 

Education: BS or MS in Immunology/Cell Biology

 

Technical Skills:


• ELISA, SDS-PAGE/Western blot, Immunoprecipitation


• Design, optimize, & validate immune assays


• Flow cytometry


• Cell culture


    o Ability to isolate human immune cells from whole blood is highly desirable.


    o Ability to conduct functional immune assays (i.e. phagocytosis, chemotaxis, proliferation, cytotoxicity etc.)


• Biochemical analytical skills (i.e. protein & carbohydrate assays)


• Adept at performing statistical analysis, literature searches, ordering & maintaining laboratory inventory


• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision


• Ability to work collaboratively in teams


• Adept computer skills (such as Microsoft Office, Softmax Pro, FlowJo, Prism Graph Pad etc)


• GLP/GMP experience or significant documentation experience a plus


• Basic molecular biology skills a plus
