Drug
Biothera is developing two pharmaceuticals that enhance innate immune function and work synergistically with other therapies to treat a wide range of diseases.
Imprime PGG™
Imprime PGG is an innate immune modulator that is a soluble beta 1,3/1,6 glucan for I.V. administration. Its unique mechanism of action delivers the greatest therapeutic benefit in combination with other therapies. Biothera has two active Investigation New Drug (IND) filings with the U.S. Food and Drug Administration for the development of Imprime PGG in cancer and hematopoeitic applications. Clinical research shows that Imprime PGG does not induce inflammatory cytokines in contrast to the pyrogenic and proinflammatory effects observed with most biological response modifiers.
Imprime WGP™
Imprime WGP is particulate beta 1,3/1,6 glucan for oral administration. Its ability to accelerate regeneration of bone marrow stem cells (hematopoietic recovery) is being evaluated by The National Institute for Allergy and Infectious Disease (NIAID), one of the National Institutes of Health. The objective of the NIAID's Radiation/Nuclear Countermeasures Product Development Program is to identify and develop drugs to treat and protect the general U.S. population against acute radiation exposure resulting from a nuclear terrorist attack or accident.
