EAGAN, MN – March 23, 2005 – Biothera’s sales of its food-grade beta glucan products increased more than 100 percent in 2004 over the previous year, reflecting growing awareness and recognition of the importance of effective immune support ingredients.

That momentum is continuing in 2005 with first quarter 2005 sales expected to show a 300 percent increase over the same period a year ago.

“The marketplace for immune-enhancing ingredients is becoming aware of the tremendous potential of our patented products,” said Richard Mueller, Biothera president and chief executive officer. “Few natural ingredients can match the level of credible, scientific research that support our products.”

Biothera’s healthcare group manufactures and sells patented beta glucan products as ingredients to the dietary supplement, functional food, cosmetic and animal nutrition markets. Biothera’s active ingredient brands are WGP^® 3-6 and BetaRight^® 3-6.

Biothera has experienced rapid sales growth with the publication of new research demonstrating the efficacy of its products to prime key innate immune cells in humans and animals. The company currently has product sales in more than 20 countries in North America, Europe and Asia.
